KAEA regions periodically host "drive in" events open to any art teachers. Check out your Regions' Events and all of those around the state.

North East Kansas 
 Washburn Rural High School on Saturday November 10th from 10-2. 
Demonstrations of gelli printing, mono-printing, monotypes, and collographs plus more depending on time. 
Theresa Shetler-Logan will have lesson plans and rubrics to share along with information on critiquing. We will start with demonstrations then break for a potluck lunch, so bring something tasty like soup in a crock pot. After lunch we will share lessons and ideas. Feel free to bring a lesson or two and even student examples. This is open to all grades and should be fun filled art making day!

Cold connections Pendant & Calder Inspired Wire Sculptures
We will be creating a two metal riveted pendant.  You will learn how to cut, file, sand, rivet and polish metal.  This project can be done with a few simple tools and is appropriate for High School level.  Please come with an idea of a pendant between 1" and 2" in size. Fee covers metals and saw blades.
Cost $10.00
Calder inspired wire sculptures - 
Based upon early circus works of Alexander Calder.
Suitable for upper elementary through High School students.
Cost $5.00

Regional Art Instructors Fall Meeting on Friday, November 2, 2018
Catherine Macintosh has scheduled Tobias Flores and several of his students from FHSU to bring molds, a portable foundry and scrap aluminum to demonstrate Aluminum Cast Tiles. She is graciously including us in this activity at Ness City High School. 
Schedule:
9:00 AM Check in at Ness City High School Office, Move to art room, Prepare & participate in Aluminum Cast Tiles
11:30 AM Lunch and Northwest Region Fall Meeting--El dos de Oros Mexican Restaurant, 409 E Sycamore St
2:00 PM Adjourn, Return to school if needed to help Catherine with clean up.
