Why KAEA?

I joined for the community and stayed for the professional development opportunities, youth art month competition, and to stay current on Art Ed issues from around the state! -Alyssa Passmore...KC Region, MS Art

I joined as a brand-new teacher hoping to find anything that would help keep my head above water. I found that - and so much more. I found mentors that immediately helped me find my way, gave me advice, and answered ALL my questions. I found amazing lessons, materials, and techniques that my students loved and that fed my soul. I found a merry band of art teachers I can call my friends. Twenty-six years later, I am still learning new things, meeting new people, and enjoying the company of all of my old friends, too. I have found my art family. When I am with them, I am home. -Shannon Wedel...North Central Region, Elem. Art

I joined as a student after Dr. Grove shared how awesome the organization was. It was the idea that I could connect with and learn from art teachers and also that I had something to share! KAEA has helped me see myself as a leader and I love the opportunity to give and receive. -Katie Morris...North East Region, K-12 Art
