Upcoming Regional Events

KAEA Regional Events are held periodically around the state. You are welcome to attend events from any region. You do not need to be a member to attend, though we would love to have you!

KAEA Regional Events are Back!

North Central

Stained Glass Workshop

Learn the basics of foil wrap stained glass! You will make a small ornament, learning to cut glass, shape glass, apply foil, and solder your pieces together. 

 

Date: December 11, 2021

Where: Great Bend High School 

Time: 9 am - 3 pm

Cost: $10

Workshop is limited to 15 spaces, payment is essential to saving your spot due to glass ordering.

North East

Raku Glaze Get-Together

Bring a bisque piece to RAKU glaze. If you have raku or 04 or 05 glazes, you can glaze before attending. Some bisque tea bowls will be available to glaze.

We will glaze pots first thing then preheat to dry out glazes so we can fire in the afternoon. We will also create a slab built lidded box. Clay will be provided.

Lesson Plan Swap and Make-and-Take 

Come join your regional area to swap lesson plans and create some artwork!

Lesson Plan Swap

Bring copies of a lesson plan and examples of the project! We’ll have a swap

and then a tour of the Emporia State Art Department.

Conference Hotel Reservations
Conference Hotel Rate ENDS TOMORROW, Oct. 14th!!
The 2021 Fall Conference hotel is the Drury Plaza Broadview Hotel.
There is a large block of rooms reserved for KAEA conference attendees at a special rate of $118 per night either single king deluxe or double queen deluxe, 
available both/either Thursday October 28th and Friday October 29th. 
Please use code 2353760 when making your reservation. 
Parking, normally $10 (on-site, covered) per day is included for KAEA conference attendees.


Workshop Offerings
Workshops are filling up--register soon to 
get your favorites!!
There are a variety of workshops to choose from. 
It would be a good idea to peruse the choices and have your choices 
written down--with second and third choices-- prior to registering 
to make it easier! Especially if your district is doing the registration for you!
(Keep in mind that for sessions 1 thru 4: 
You need to choose
EITHER an A/B combo OR a C session)

The Members Only Art Exhibit
Deadline to send your images is October 19th
This is a great and easy way to show off your talents
with this digital format! 
You must be a conference registrant to participate. 
Check out entry information on the conference website and submit your pieces!! It's super easy!

T-Shirts and Aprons
October 15th is the last day to pre-order 
T-shirts and Aprons!!
Pre-Order your conference shirt and/or apron with your registration!
  
District won't pay for your t-shirt with your registration?--no problem!
There are directions on the website as to how you can send in a check
to pre-order. 
All orders are due by October 15th--through registration or check.

Silent and Live Auction and Raffle            
         Don't forget to bring something to 
donate and money to buy!!
Check out the offerings throughout the
conference--browse often....and bid often!! 
We have some really special pieces to auction off this year!
(All proceeds go toward funding the 
Pre-Service Conference Grants.)
We will also be auctioning off the painting that Miss Kansas Anika Wooten did 
for our Youth Art Month Celebration! 

Suitcase Sale

College Credit is Available

This is a great opportunity to get college credit at a great price!
Information will be available at the check-in table.

Pre-Conference Social

There will be a pre-conference social activity for those arriving 
Thursday evening in the Drury hotel lobby. Come join your 
fellow art people for socialization and some 
low-key creating to wind down from your drive!

Summer Camp 2021 Throwback!

KAEA Summer Camp 2021 was held in Hiawatha, KS June 15th-16th. 

The workshop choices were Plein Air with Tarin Eicher

and Relief Printmaking with Katherine "Kate" Miller
